Detailed Verdict Issued Against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in Toshakhana Reference

Islamabad's Accountability Court has released a detailed verdict against the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Bushra BiBi in the Toshakhana reference case. Justice Mohammad Bashir, the judge of the accountability court, issued a comprehensive 44-page verdict. It is noteworthy that yesterday, in the Toshakhana case, PTI founder and Bushra  Bibi were sentenced to 14 years imprisonment each. While presiding over the proceedings in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, Judge Mohammad Bashir declared PTI founder ineligible to contest elections for 10 years as well. The court has imposed a collective fine of PKR 1,574,040,000 on PTI founder and Bushra  Bibi. PTI founder has been fined PKR 787,040,000, and Bushra  Bibi has also been fined the same amount.

  The Special Court in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, hands down a 10-year prison sentence to the founder Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and Ex Vice President Shah Mehmood Qurashi. Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain made the decision under the Official Secrets Act. During the court session, both Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi were present. They were given a questionnaire to provide statements, but concerns arose about the absence of their legal representatives. They questioned how they could proceed without their lawyers. Judge Zulqarnain assured them that the State Defense Council would represent them. However, when the defense attorneys sought permission to cross-examine, the judge mentioned their lack of confidence expressed in him the day before. It's important to note that in a previous session, representatives were allowed to cross-examine. The details of the case and the reasons behind the verdict are still undisclosed.
