Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qurashi Imprisoned for 10 Years in Cipher Case

The Special Court in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, hands down a 10-year prison sentence to the founder Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and Ex Vice President Shah Mehmood Qurashi. Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain made the decision under the Official Secrets Act.

During the court session, both Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi were present. They were given a questionnaire to provide statements, but concerns arose about the absence of their legal representatives. They questioned how they could proceed without their lawyers.

Judge Zulqarnain assured them that the State Defense Council would represent them. However, when the defense attorneys sought permission to cross-examine, the judge mentioned their lack of confidence expressed in him the day before.

It's important to note that in a previous session, representatives were allowed to cross-examine. The details of the case and the reasons behind the verdict are still undisclosed.
