Babar Azam Achieves Milestone as Fifth-Best Test Batsman Globally

In a stunning development, Pakistan cricket team former captain Babar Azam has soared five positions to claim the fifth spot in the ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings. This outstanding accomplishment cements his unique status as the sole player worldwide holding a top-five position across all three cricket formats—Test, ODIs, and T20.

Previously positioned at 10th, Babar's remarkable ascent in the rankings is attributed to the underwhelming performances of batsmen from India and Australia in their recent Test matches.

As of the latest rankings, Kane Williamson of New Zealand retains his crown as the No. 1 Test batter globally, while Virat Kohli now holds the sixth position. Australia's opener, Usman Khawaja, has also seen an upward trajectory, ascending two places to claim the eighth position after an impressive showing in a Test match against the Caribbean side.

Babar Azam's consistent climb in the rankings underscores his exceptional skills and adaptability as a batsman, establishing him as a formidable presence on the international cricket stage.
